EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

Position: Valet Parking Job (To park vehicles)

The job is performed in Groups, the number of people within each group will be in accordance to the club’s needs or the activities already scheduled. The Valet Parking personnel is scheduled in shifts according to the schedule. The working schedule depends on the events already scheduled and the actual club’s working hours. It is mandatory to work ALL holidays.

The students must always wear the uniforms.

In the event of an indiscipline or criminal act, the student’s employment with the company will be terminated and he/she will have to comply and pay in full for the obligations to which he/she already commited.

Upon the student’s request, the company issues a certificate of employment at the end of the contract. Also, at the student’s request, an evaluation of his/her performance will be performed.

Number of Positions Available: 40

Level of English Required: Intermediate

Conditions of Employment: Employment performed out in the open, despite the weather conditions which will not interfere with the development of the job.

The hourly salary is $ 7.00 and the estimated salary every other week is $ 700.00

 

DATES OF EMPLOYMENT

The students should start working between December 1st and December 15th (at the latest) and will cease working between April 1st and April 15th. 

The shortest period to work is Four (4) months and the students are expected to arrive and depart on the dates already specified.

The arrival and departure program is used to schedule the airport pick up, training sessions, and the beggining of the actual employment within the clubs to which they are assigned.

The company operates everyday, weekends and holidays such as Christmas, New Year’s Evening and other holidays, which are mandatory.

 

HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT

The student can expect an average of 40 hours, however, there are possibilities for the students to obtain more hours. The average worked last year was 60 hours.

The months in which more hours can be obtained are January, February and March and the months with less amount of hours are December and April. Depending on the student’s performance, a better schedule can be obtained. 

The student is not allowed to engage on a second job unless he/she obtains the employer’s consent.

The company does not pay over time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

INFORMATION REGARDING THE WORK SITE

The work sites are Country Clubs located in residential areas, which have Golf yards, Tennis courts and Restaurants which provide services to the club members. These are exclusive social and sports clubs in which their members and their guests live and meet. They own luxury vehicles which require a great care and knowledge to be driven.

The Clubs are located in the cities of Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Deerfield Beach, Jupiter, Broward, etc.

 

UNIFORMS AND APPEARANCE POLICY

The students shall use the Uniform provided by the company according to the dressing code indicated.

The cost of the Uniform is $ 50.00 (one time charge) and $ 4.00 every other week, which is a total of $ 82.00

The students are expected to bring totally white sneackers, totally black sneackers, Black pants, white socks, Black belt and Khaki pants (which will only be used occassionally during cold weather) and can be obtained locally.

 

HOUSING

Some students will choose for housing and it will be provided according to the conditions detailed as follows:

Type of Housing: An appartment with Two Bedrooms, Two Bathrooms, Kitchen, Laundry Room. It includes washer and dryer, microwave, TV, Kitchen utensils. Does not include Towels, Linens or Comforters.

Three students will be placed in each room and the cost for housing is (Two Thousand Dollars) $ 2,000.00 for the four months of duration of the contract, which will be taken out of their paychecks according to the company policy. 

This cost includes utilities such as Water and Light and Power up to $ 100.00 per month. It does not include telephone, cable or internet services.

A van will be provided for the transportation to the work site, only to those who choose for housing. Fuel and Insurance is paid by the students. The average cost is $ 2.00 per day for fuel and $ 50.00 per month for Insurance.

A deposit of $ 200.00 is required, which will be reimbursed once the appartment is returned in the same conditions as it was received. The deadline for the rent deposit is November 1st of 2007

If the student DOES NOT CHOOSE for housing, he/she wil be resposible for his/her own transportation, and the company will not be responsible for it.

It is recommended to stay within areas located near the work site such as Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Deerfield Beach.

 

MEALS

Meals are not included within the cost of housing and the student is at all times responsible for his/her meals.

 

Transportation at arrival

Coordinated by the company according to the arrivals program, student’s flight number and arrival time.

Public Transportation or Shuttle Bus will be used between 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM  and the cost is $ 20 per person with a minimum of 4 each time.

If the student arrives after the hours already indicated, he/she shall wait for the next trip to the airport.

 

SOCIAL SECURITY AND DRIVING LICENSE

Many students in the program, are receiving orientation within their countries of origin, which means that are ready to travel directly to their work sites and start on their programs rather quickly. However, in most cases they need to apply at their destination.

The company requires the students to obtain the Social Security Card and the Florida Driver’s Licence.

It is mandatory to present both documents to the company as soon as possible.

The nearest Social Security Office is located in Pompano Beach, at less than 5 Miles from the work site.

The nearest Driver’s License Office is located in Deerfield Beach, at less than 4 Miles from the work site.
